Visit to Monte Maria Church in Mexico City
Monte Maria is a large church. The first service is for members only and over three thousand people attend that service each Sunday. |
Worship time is very alive and expressive. A small dance troupe along with a large band helps to lead worship. Most people in the audience will raise up their hands to God and/or dance in celebration before Him. The Spirit of God is very present and felt during these worship times. |
Here Pastor Charlie from our church is preaching a sermon and Pastor Roberto from Monte Maria is translating. |
Here are first time alter call responders who came forward to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. |
After the first time responders' alter call, the call is opened up to anyone who needs God's touch in their lives. Here Pastor Charlie, Pastor Roberto and others are praying for all that came forward. Following the group prayers each one is briefly individually prayed for. |
During the group prayer time, everyone who came forward also prayed as they were being prayed for. One can feel the Spirit of God at work in these prayer times. |
Child care and children's activities were provided during the meetings of the leadership training institute while we were there. Tim and Sue assisted Pastor Roberto's wife Bonnie with some of these activities. |
During some of the playground activity time, Tim watched some of the little children and caught them at the bottom of the slide. |
We took an overnight trip three hours away into the mountains to conduct an evangelistic meeting and to hold a teaching session for some young adults who are testing their call to be missionaries. All the services were held in a tent there. |
After the training session a Mexican business man provided a meal at cost for the young adults and our team at his restaurant. |
Here is a family picture of Monte Maria's Pastor Roberto and Bonnie who lead the church. |
This is the group picture of the team that went with Pastor Charlie to Mexico City. Pastor Roberto and Bonnie are also included in the photo as well as Guillermo who is from our sister church in Chile. |
